About Testyra
Challenge Your Mind. Measure Your Skills.
Testyra is a free cognitive assessment platform offering 32 browser based tests across four categories: Memory and Attention, Logic and Problem Solving, Creativity and Thinking Styles, and Speed and Focus. No signup required. Every test and every result is free.
What Testyra Is
Traditional cognitive assessments — the kind used in research settings or clinical practice — are often expensive, require professional administration, or both. Testyra was built on a straightforward premise: cognitive assessment grounded in established psychology research should be accessible to anyone with a browser.
Each test targets a specific cognitive process. Reaction time. Working memory capacity. Inhibitory control. Divergent thinking. Logical reasoning. Tests are performance based where possible, scored against clear criteria, and each result includes a plain language explanation of what it may suggest alongside its limitations.
The tests are designed around published research frameworks in cognitive psychology. That does not make them clinical tools — they are not, and that distinction is important — but it means the measurements are grounded in something real rather than invented for engagement.
Why It Was Built
Testyra started as an internal project. The original question was practical: how well do people actually perform on the cognitive tasks that research associates with learning, decision making, and professional effectiveness — and can that be assessed without a lab or a clinical referral?
What began as a self assessment exercise expanded when it became clear the same question interested a broader audience. Traditional assessments were either inaccessible, expensive, or not practical for regular personal use. The opportunity was to build something that took the underlying science seriously without requiring a clinical setting to use it.
The platform has grown through user feedback and continues to add tests and update existing ones as research in relevant areas develops.
What We Stand For
Accessibility. Cognitive assessment should not require money, professional referrals, or academic access. Every test on Testyra is free and designed to be usable without prior knowledge of psychology.
Accuracy over confidence. Where research is contested or measurements have known limitations, we say so clearly. The Methodology page documents this in full. A test that overstates what it can tell you is not useful — it is just flattering.
Honest scope. Testyra is a self exploration and personal development platform. It is not a clinical tool, a diagnostic service, or a replacement for professional assessment. Results are starting points for reflection, not definitive measurements of ability.
Practical improvement. Specific cognitive skills respond to deliberate practice. That is reasonably well supported in research for abilities like working memory, reaction speed, and reasoning. Making targeted practice accessible and worth returning to is the practical design goal behind each test category.
Who Maintains Testyra
Testyra is built and maintained by a team with backgrounds in software development and applied cognitive psychology. We are not a clinical institution or academic research group. Our approach is to ground test design in published research, document methodology transparently, and update content when errors are found or research moves on.
New tests are added based on user feedback and gaps in the existing category coverage. The Methodology page explains how tests are designed, validated in practice, and scored.
A Note on Data
Testyra does not sell user data. Test results are used to generate your score and nothing else. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
