Why It Matters: Number series tests measure inductive reasoning — the ability to spot a pattern, identify the rule that generates it, and apply it to predict new values. This is one of the most reliable predictors of fluid intelligence and is used by Mensa, Wonderlic, SHL, and most corporate assessment batteries. Tips: Calculate the difference between consecutive terms first. If that doesn't work, try ratios. Look for two interleaved sequences. When in doubt, check if the numbers are squares, cubes, primes, or factorials.
