How fast can you tell which number is larger — even when the font size tries to trick you?
How It Works:
- You'll see 20 trials, one at a time
- Each trial shows two numbers side by side
- Click the number that is numerically LARGER
- Ignore font size — it's often a trap
The Science: This is the Numerical Stroop task (also called the Size Congruity Effect). When the numerically larger number is also printed in a bigger font, your brain agrees — fast. When the smaller number is in the bigger font, your brain must override a conflict. The slower you are on those incongruent trials, the stronger your interference effect.
Tips: Trust the value, not the size. The bigger font is often the wrong answer.
