Description
The Attention to Detail Test measures visual scanning accuracy and error detection through a progressive grid comparison task. It evaluates the ability to identify differences between two visual arrays systematically and accurately under increasing difficulty.
How It Works
Two 5x5 grids are displayed side by side. One is the reference grid. One is the interactive grid. You identify and click cells that differ between them. The number of differences increases with each level. Three incorrect clicks end the test.
What Gets Measured
Level reached — the point at which incorrect clicks accumulate to end the session.
Accuracy percentage — ratio of correct difference identifications to total clicks made.
Scanning efficiency — whether errors cluster in specific grid regions, suggesting systematic gaps in visual search pattern.
Understanding Your Results
High level reached with high accuracy suggests consistent and systematic visual scanning under increasing complexity. High level reached with lower accuracy suggests progression through partial detection rather than complete scanning. Early session errors concentrated in specific grid areas may reflect scanning pattern gaps rather than general visual processing difficulty.
Limitations
This test measures visual difference detection within a structured grid comparison task. It does not assess reading accuracy, spatial reasoning, or error detection in text or code contexts. Performance is sensitive to screen quality, ambient lighting, and visual fatigue. Results reflect performance on this specific task format and should not be generalized to all detail-oriented work contexts.
